Nimesulide Tablet dose


The main purpose of Nimesulide tablets is for the treatment of painful inflammatory conditions, back pain, dysmenorrhea, postoperative pain, osteoarthritis, and fever.
Oral dosage form in adults :100 mg and In children : 5 mg/kg/day in 2 or 3 divided doses. It is prescribed for the shortest duration.
Nimesulide has superior gastrointestinal safety as compared to other NSAIDs. Its multifactorial mode of action gives it a unique and broad action on inflammatory processes.
Nimesulide tablet prevents cancer by inhibiting the proliferation of various types of cancer cells mainly via COX-2 independent mechanisms. It is also used for dry skin, to improve skin-tone,and to increase energy.
Nimesulide is indicated for the treatment of acute pain, Painful osteoarthritis (Swelling in the joints) and primary dysmenorrhoea.

It is considered as the most prescribed tablet for variety of painful inflammatory conditions including those associated with osteoarthritis, postoperative trauma, sports injuries.

Dose: 
The usual dose is 100mg twice a day. 
Children: 5mg/kg of body weight in 2 or 3 divided doses.
 
The maximum duration of a treatment course is 15 days and, as for other NSAIDs, treatment should be as short as possible maximum of 15 days. Nimesulide also improves the skin tone and to increase in energy level.

Food, gender and advanced age have negligible effects on Nimesulide pharmacokinetics.
